In the sixties All of my friends and I hung out at the Princes drive in on Jensen Drive at Tidwell on the North side of Houston. I started out hanging out there in about 1959 in my 55 Ford and then in the summer of 1963 I went in the Army.  I returned to Houston in 1966, got a new burgundry Mustang and hung out at Princes and the T & L  Resturant. I met my first wife there (Sally), she was of course a car hop. A lot of people called her Mustang Sally, because I was in Vietnam and she had the Mustang and she was still playing around.  We had some exciting times in the parking lot. Everyone that had a hot car or mom and dad's ride went to Princes. We met out girls there, ate there, drink there and there were fights there. I loved the burger, fries, ice lemonaid, and of course "beer". Sally was hot, young, long legs, blond hair, green eyes and friendly. We planned our races there and got a lot of Tickets from the Houston Police for burning out in the parking lot. I'll bet that there were even babies made in the parking lot. A good friend of mine, Bobby Koppen got drunk at Princes and went to race, wrecked his 66 Ford (390) and was killed. Then in September or 1967, it was off to Vietnam until the 4th of July of 1970. Every time I came home on leave, the first place I stopped was Princes to see who was there.  Princes was a meeting place as well as an eating place. Even now, I stop at the Princes on Fuqua every chance I get.  I would like to find some photo of the Jensen Drive Princes just for the memories.
